Thermaltake launches the newly Hard Drive Cooler - Hardcano 14

It has been nearly 50 years of research and development ever since IBM developed the first hard disk drive in 1957. The hard drive capacity and speed are increasing at the speed as Moore’s Law has predicted. As SAS and SCSI drives enter the 15,000RPM era, the SATA drives are entering the 10,000RPM era as well. With the additional capabilities of redundant array of hard drives, thermal issues are starting to arise for the do-it-yourself users.

Thermaltake Technology has came up with the new solution for the increasingly hot hard disk drives – the Hardcano 14 Hard Drive Cooler.

The all-aluminum Hardcano 14 contains a built-in 50mm silent LED fan spinning at 3,000RPM and keeping to a noise level of 16 dBA. The silent fan complimented by the high-airflow front mesh grill enables the Hardcano 14 to easily induce the cold air outside the system into the hot hard drive disk. The Hardcano 14 also supplies the users with two high-efficiency heat spreaders to enable even better cooling for the hard disk drives. With the cold air actively inducted into system and the heat spreaders working passively, the hard disk drive will be running as cool as it can be.

Thermaltake Technology also takes into consideration the vibrations created while the hard drives are under extremely high speeds. The Hardcano 14 includes 4 rubber grummets to stabilize and quiet down the hard disk drives. The rubber grummets not only quiet down the drives, they also protect the drive from vibration and in return lose data through the damages caused by the vibrations. Thermaltake Technology ensures the data security of the users’ hard disk drives while cooling down the drive as much as possible to ensure an ever-lasting life of the device.

The Hardcano 14 features an easy-to-open cover clam-shell design that only needs 2 screws to complete the entire installation. The oval in the front of the unit is a trait passed down from the previous Hardcano 12. The glamorous LED lighting while the unit is powered lets the users know that the Hardcano 14 is not just a cooler for the drive, it is a complete thermal solution with data protection.
