Thermaltake Technology – the first to bring you a specialized AMD Turion CPU heatsink and fan coolers: CL-P0280 and CL-P0312

January 2006 - Taipei, Taiwan –

The standard desktop CPU outputs an extremely high amount of heat. As a result, the heatsink structures for these desktop CPUs are usually complex and require high rotational speed fans. The high heat output posts several restrictions such as noise level and size limits for the small form factor manufacturers. The new generation of MoDT (Mobile on Desktop) is beginning to gain pace in the desktop market. The AMD Turion CPU is a very efficient and high performance processor; however, it is still rare to see Turion CPU heatsinks on the MoDT market. The result is that Thermaltake presents two new Turion CPU-only coolers: the CL-P0280 and CL-P0312. The silence and low-noise characteristics of these coolers will satisfy the MoDT DIY gamers’ needs.

The Turion CPU and the desktop Athlon 64 CPU uses the same Socket 754, but the Turion CPU does not have the IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader) but instead has padding around the CPU die to prevent heatsinks from crushing the CPU die. The CL-P0280 is the heatsink that supports the 25/35W Turion CPU. Utilizing an all-aluminum structure, 70mm, 2500rpm fan, the CL-P0280 is only about 21 dBA when operating.

For the AMD Mobile CPU such as the Mobile Athlon 64 (81W), the solution is Thermaltake’s CL-P0312. The CL-P0312 features a copper base to increase the heat exchange efficiency and an 80mm fan on top spinning at 2500rpm to greatly dissipate the heat generated by the CPU.

Growing with the world in both environment protections, energy-saving, and low-noise environment, Thermaltake Technology is proud of the silent Turion CPU coolers. Thermaltake has utilized its many years of experience in thermal management to present the cooler for the Turion CPU, and believe that Thermaltake can resolve any PC thermal issues, no matter whether it is silence or performance.
